Stock message controls#
In Product page, choose Show stock availability, Show remaining quantity, and Low stock threshold. The message follows the selected variant.
What the message means#
| Variant state | Presentation logic |
|---|---|
| Unavailable | A sold-out state is shown. |
| Tracked quantity greater than zero | A count can appear when Show remaining quantity is enabled; the low-stock threshold determines the low-stock wording. |
| Tracked quantity at or below zero, continue selling enabled | A backorder-style message can appear. |
| Untracked inventory or count disabled | A general availability message is used instead of inventing an exact remaining quantity. |
Pickup availability#
Enable Show pickup availability in Product page, then configure eligible pickup locations and inventory in Shopify. The theme requests availability for the selected variant; it does not create pickup locations or guarantee that every variant has pickup stock.
Test your real stock rules#
- Check a sold-out variant and one allowed to continue selling.
- Change variants and confirm the message changes with them.
- Check pickup using a stocked location and a location without stock.
- Do not treat visible stock as a reservation; the cart and checkout can still encounter inventory changes.
