Accessibility and motion

Keep the configured store usable with a keyboard, assistive technology and reduced motion.

Your content choices matter#

  • Use one clear page title and a logical heading order.
  • Maintain readable text/background contrast, including image overlays.
  • Add descriptive alt text to informative media.
  • Use link labels that explain the destination.
  • Keep form labels visible or correctly named.
  • Do not put essential information only in animation, hover effects or an image.

Motion settings#

Theme settings → Motion controls section and accordion animation where implemented. Reduced-motion preferences are respected in parts of the theme, but test carousels, videos and app content separately. Disabling motion is not a substitute for checking focus and navigation.

A practical keyboard pass#

  1. Use Tab to reach header links, search, product options and cart controls.
  2. Open and close overlays with keyboard controls; verify focus returns to a meaningful trigger.
  3. Test filters, pagination, quick view and the size guide.
  4. Try the mobile layout with a physical keyboard or appropriate accessibility tooling.
  5. Use a screen reader to verify names, reading order, errors and result announcements.
